On Loving Yourself

Like yourself, Love yourself.

Do you really love yourself? Do you like the person you are?
Questions like these obviously sound weird and ridiculous to many of us. But the truth is, many are still struggling to embrace their personality. They are not proud of their person.

Every one of us has our areas of weakness and areas that needs working on if to be that person we dream to be.

The problem is not in who you are currently but the question is are you satisfied with who you are? Are you taking any intentional steps towards becoming better? as long as we keep pressing forward, building ourselves and becoming better each day, we can be sure God is happy with us.

Many a time, we feel we have made bad decisions, decisions that are clearly contrary to God’s will and all we can think of is that God is not happy with us. We erroneously believe what we do can make Him love us less

Get this right today friends, no matter how bad you think you are, God loves you just the way you are.

He may not be happy with every decision you make, but you can be rest assured that God is still loves you nonetheless.

So why do you cast yourself down? Why do you regard yourself as a bad daughter/son because of past mistakes?

Why do you feel insecure and hate yourself when God that created you loves you just the way you are?

Like yourself, love the person you are evolving to be. Stop focusing on your imperfections and faults. There were times I knew the decision I made was not the best and it took months before I could get over it. I felt i should have done better, i felt I should have waited, I knew God was not happy but yet He loves me.

Let us all understand that God knew that we were not going to be perfect, He knew that we were going to have weakness and make wrong decisions. He knew all these things and HE LOVES US STILL!

Why not change that mindset and love yourself? You should understand that if you find it difficult to love yourself, you most probably will find it difficult to love others.

Remember this verse in the scripture: “The second most important commandment is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” (Matthew: 22vs39).

You can’t give out what you don’t have. If you feel upset, insecure or restless, these negative attribute will manifest in your relationships.

If you feel you’re unattractive and feel worthless, no matter what anyone says, you’ll only see yourself in the light of the reality you have created.
The bible says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so he is” this simply means your perspective determines your reality. What image have you painted in you?

Friends, if only we can see how God is working on us to become better person, only if we can see how these flaws and weaknesses are going to mold us to be the best person we have always wanted to be. Then we will stop criticizing ourselves, we will let go of the pains of our past, insecurities within us and embrace ourselves

Many times while chatting with my husband, I told him, “I’m trying so hard to live right, I’m so impatient, I can’t control my anger .” But he keeps reminding me how I can become a better person and I don’t have to be mad at myself whenever I make mistakes.

I am not saying you should continue to fall into mistakes and behave anyhow because God loves you. But I’m telling someone out there to stop condemning his/herself because of past mistakes.

Don’t be your own enemy, stop disapproving yourself when God approves you. Shake it off!
Shake off guilt!
Shake off condemnation! AND FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF!

Like yourself, Love yourself!
