On Pleasing Others

You cannot please everyone!

One of the biggest struggles people battle with recently is how they will please people and get their approval.

They often forget that God didn’t create us to live of lives to please people. We were created for Him and to live for Him alone. Most people out there, even those close to you will try to squeeze you to their taste and ensure that you become what they want you to be.

Often times, these could turn out to be your parents, friends, or even your boss at work.

Sometimes, they intend good for you but the thing is you were not created to please them. No matter how pleasant or good their opinions or motives might be, if it is not in line with God’s purpose for you, you have to let go of it!

If you will be successful and fulfil destiny in life, you have to start taking steps in the light of what God has said concerning you and be bold enough to let go of people’s thought of you.

You have to accept the fact that you cannot please everyone. If you will become a winner, you must run your own race. This is between you and God, not about what people think or feel.

The moment you begin to live for the acceptance of others, you start to lead a frustrated and directionless life. Everyone cannot like you or what you do, even when you try hard you cannot make everyone to like you. The more you try to please them, the more your problems compound.

Worry less, you are kind.

You are respectful.

You are smart and

You are not going to live your life to please everyone but to please God and Him alone.

You should not change your originality because of what you hear people say about you.

They often don’t understand the motive behind your actions, that’s fine. They will say you are  proud and all sorts but don’t worry about it what they think or say.

They will say several things to mar your image but don’t let that change you.

Human approval is inconsequential when you have been approved by God.

I understand that we don’t want to loose that friendship, and the long time relationship, we don’t want to hurt their feelings, but we cannot keep living our lives based on other people’s opinions and preferences.

Destiny is not emotional!

If you will go far in life, you have to be strong and focus on God, because God is the only one that will never let you down. All these people will leave you at some point and all your efforts will be wasted. They will tell you, they never needed your help and they would be right.

Are you living the life God wants you to live?

Are you dressing in certain ways because you seek people’s acceptance?

Are you trying so hard to impress people because you want to gain their approval?

Answer these questions and evaluate yourself. Take an inventory of your life today and seek to make amendment.

You see, you can’t live the life God wants for you if you are trying hard to be who others want to be.

Just be what God wants you to be.

You are free to be you. The fact that you are not what they want you to be does not imply God is displeased with you.

God didn’t create you to be like someone else, No!

You are original and unique in your being, You are blessed. You are exceptional.

Run your own race and don’t try to compete with anyone else, don’t allow anyone to control you and end up going around feeling guilty because you didn’t meet up to their standards.

Don’t get upset due to negative words they say about you, focus on God, focus on God’s word for your life and move on!

Hear this, you may loose friends when you don’t yield to all their advice and opinions. In fact they will think you are making a great mistake for leaving them, but those friends will come back when you eventually succeed in life. They will celebrate you when you walk in the fullness of your destiny.

People don’t celebrate excuses, they celebrate result.

Don’t worry when people leave you because you refuse to please them, you will come across better opportunities, new relationships and God will continue to bless you as long as you are following His instructions.

You cannot please everyone, get that right today. People will tell you how they feel you should live your life, how to dress and how to spend your money.

But you have every right not to listen to them and follow what God tells you.

Never try to please anyone!

There are people out there who don’t like you but they like what you do for them.

People like this always want you to check on them, run their errands and meet their needs. If you don’t do all these things, they will be disappointed and make you feel guilty about it.

A friend of mine once told me how she always tries to please someone in her church and the more she helps, the more the person gets angry at her. People like this will drain you and deplete you till nothing remains of you.

Don’t be ignorant, know what God wants for your life, don’t try to please people and end up living a frustrated life.

My friend, this is your life, you are solely responsible for how it turns how to be and no matter how hard you try to be kind to everyone, some will still find fault in you.

Why not focus on God rather than men?

    Let me share some quotes:

“I can’t tell you the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.”  – Ed Sheeran

“You wouldn’t worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

“When you say “yes” to others, make sure you aren’t saying “no” to yourself.”  – Paulo Coehlo

“Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.”  – Lao Tzu

“If you try to please all, you please none.”  – A esp

“If you’re trying to please everyone, then you’re not going to make anything that is honestly yours, I don’t think, in the long run.” – Viggo Mortensen

“If you are busy pleasing everyone, you are not being true to yourself” – Jocelyn Murray

“If you live for people’s acceptance, you will die from their rejection.” – Lecrae

God alone, should we seek to please. Pleasing others should be within the limits of God’s leadings.

    Shalom!
